The Greater Manchester Gymnastics Association was dusted off at the end of 2002 to run the County Grades as the number of gymnasts entering the Regional Grades competitions at 6, 5 and 4 was getting too large. The sole purpose of the GMGA was to run these grades competitions and to run other County competitions as necessary to develop the sport.

At the AGM of the North West Gymnastics Association in 2007 the structure of the counties was changed and the GMGA ceased to exist. The running of the Greater Manchester Grades is now the responsibility of the NWGA Womens Technical Committee and is organised locally by the Greater Manchester panel

Competition Dates for 2012

GM Grades Last weekend in January 28th/29th Jan at Copley
GM Open 2nd/3rd June at Wigan
GM Floor and Vault 7th/8th July at Copley
GM 4 Piece 13th/14th October at Copley

The Greater Manchester Open 2011 was held on the weekend of 11th/12th June 2011 at Birchwood Tennis and Leisure centre. The full results are available on the GM Open 2011 page here.

The 2011 GM Regional Grades were held on 29/30th January 2011. The results are now available on the GM Grades 2011 page.

The GM Floor and Vault Championship was held on 2nd/3rd July 2011 at Fit City, Ordsall. All the results can be downloaded on the GM 2011 Floor and Vault page.

The GM 4 Piece Championship was held on 15/16th October 2011. All the results can be downloaded on the GM 2011 4 Piece page.

The Greater Manchester County Team swept the board in the Regional Teams finals on Sunday 27th November 2011 in Liverpool. They won all 7 categories. The full results can be downloaded on the NWGA WTC website here
